Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
Rated Tucson's #1 tourist attraction, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is mostly an outdoor experience on 21 acres of pristine desert, and focuses on the Sonoran Desert region of Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. The Museum includes 230 animal species in a zoo with a popular hummingbird aviary, 56,000 plants in the botanical gardens, a natural history museum, one of the most comprehensive regional mineral collections, the Warden Aquarium, the Ironwood Art Gallery, two miles of walking trails and casual dining in two restaurants. More than 85% of what you will experience here is alive.
The Coati Kids Club is a unique family membership with programs for children ages 6-12 and their favorite adults. Share your love of the Desert Museum with a special child in your life and receive these great benefits.
Pre-School and Toddler Programs are for children ages 2-5 who are wild about the desert. All programs include on grounds exploration, live animal encounters, a snack, and craft your child can make and take home. Join us in 2016 on the Thursdays of the months listed below.
To the Desert and Beyond! Our hands-on, minds-on day camps will open your eyes to the wonders of the Sonoran Desert Land and Sea. Campers will explore every nook and cranny of the Museum as they use science to make their own desert discoveries, observe live animals up close, create art with the Museum's Art Institute, make food and tools from desert plants, hike in the desert and go behind the scenes with animal keepers.
