In the past four years every exhibit at Children’s Museum Tucson has been renovated, reimagined or newly created. This has taken an investment of over $1,200,000 and the results are fantastic. Exhibits have become more interactive, educational and outreach programming has grown and our community events have flourished. These improvements have resulted in strong growth, best represented by a six year attendance increase of 82%. Children, parents and the entire family explore and connect in ways not possible anywhere else. These successes have prepared us to venture into new endeavors such as the NEW Children’s Museum Oro Valley. We are countinuing to make changes at the Museum - we invite you to come take part in all of the excitement!
In 2014, Children's Museum Tucson opened two new exhibits:
- Gravity Room:Formerly the original Build It!, this Gravity Room features components that defy gravity. Spin the Recycle Bicycle Wheel or be mesmerized by Marble Madness. Families can play with the Ball Wall or Caterpillar Thriller, creating their own gravity maze.
- Build It!: Our newest exhibit encourages children to discover, create, and connect through experiential building. With over-sized construction materials such as Rig-Ama-Jig, Kiva Planks and Imagination Blocks, budding engineers and architects use muscle and brainpower to shape their landscape in engaging ways through constructive problem solving.
A trip to the Children’s Museum is guaranteed fun every day, with hands-on activities, Wee Explore, Wee Move and Wee Wiggle programming for preschool children, and twelve permanent exhibits to explore. Here’s a look at what more there is to do throughout the year:
Children’s Museum Tucson is a valuable community resource providing educational fun and quality family time to children and families in Southern Arizona! The Museum regularly offers reduced admission days and provides community memberships to organizations serving the neediest families.
